Tori Praver’s jumped on the colorblock bandwagon and delivered this on trend Marilyn swimsuit.
It’s ironic that its name recalls one of our most iconic beauties of yesteryear, because its styling screams 2012. Personally I’d prefer a more vintage approach. The green body and purple bandeau style bust clash a little too loudly for me, although it’s a matter of preference. I also worry about it dating quickly, because at $145 it shouldn’t become a throwaway item.
If your fashion taste tends towards the daring though, you’ll appreciate the Marilyn’s bold look. Those saturated colors are head-turners, and the smocked ruching also draws the eye. This texture isn’t simply about attracting attention though; it’s also very slimming. And when your swimsuit makes you look even more slender, you’ll want everyone to look at it!
The Marilyn’s also a swimsuit of surprising versatility. The shell detail at the bust is a quirky touch, but if you think it’s too fussy it’s easily removed. We’re also given a thin halter-neck strap, which we can attach for modesty or extra security in the beach.
Tori Praver’s certainly offering us plenty of value for our dollar, but the Marilyn’s longevity is questionable. If you love looking on trend though, you’ll appreciate this dramatic design.
