Nanette Lepore Central Park BikiniIt might be named after the natural haven in the heart of one of the world's most fashionable cities, but this Central Park Bikini from Nanette Lepore is surprisingly low key.

I'm used to Nanette Lepore bikinis seeming almost as if they've stepped from the world's fashion runways. There are always details for me to marvel over, and these accents tempt me to spend the big prices her swimwear commands. I wouldn't say the Central Park is boring, but it's missing that alluring X factor.

The Central Park's unique details are there, but you really have to look for them. From a distance you simply see the classic halter-neck shape and citrus colored peacock feather print. But look closely and you'll see the delicate ruching, and the pretty cluster of pink beads at the center of the bust.

The accents are undeniably good looking, but I think they're too subtle to really add much to the design. They need to do more if we're ever going to spend $90 on this swim top. Add in a pair of matching briefs and the Central Park becomes a pretty expensive prospect. I wouldn't mind if it were a bit more original, but there are many similar bikinis on the market that cost a lot less.
