There are some lovely features here, including the mesh panels on the base which allow sand and salt water to sift through, and large pockets inside and out. But it’s not entirely practical. It’s on the small side, so it’s more suited for holding a kid’s set of sand toys than everything a family needs at the beach. The short handles are also pretty difficult to manage, especially once the tote gets loaded up, which of course doesn’t take much.

But this Melissa & Doug beach tote is well made, and a real crowd pleaser. And at a cheap and cheerful $14.99, it’s a very affordable way to carry anything you can manage to fit inside it!
