Madonna and her teen daughter Lourdes will soon expand their Material Girl fashion empire, with swimwear next on the agenda.
“We’re focused on rolling Material Girl out into additional categories, including swim and intimates and expanding the dress assortments,” a company spokesperson confirmed. “We launched footwear with ballet flats this season, but we’re going to expand into a full footwear collection going forward. It’s all under discussion.“
The bathing suits will sit alongside the youth items already available including apparel, handbags, jewelry, and other accessories.

We should see these swimsuits in Macy’s before next summer rolls around. I guess we’ll find out then whether the bathers will be as controversial as the rest of the range, which many parents felt were too risqué for their teens. A beach line does lend itself to being a little naughtier, but I still expect to see Madonna pushing the envelope as only she can.
