Swim dresses tend to be conservative affairs with long line skirts designed to hide a couple of extra kilos. But Juicy Couture bucks the trend with the Lacy Layers, a swim dress that knows how to sizzle.
If I didn’t know better I’d swear this was a party dress. It certainly wouldn’t look out of place at a nightclub, with its ultra short ruffled skirt and sexy shirred body. It appears fun and flirty, but something tells me it won’t be such a dream to wear. It seems very restrictive, the kind of swim dress designed for working on a tan rather than splashing about in the water.

It’s also worth noting that there’s no padding in the bust, so unless you’re built like the model you may feel a bit self conscious. It’s curious then that Juicy Couture makes this swim dress in a petite size, when it would best suit girls with fuller figures.
So it might not be the ideal swimsuit for athletic beach lovers, but that doesn’t mean we should count it out. When appearances matter, it’s refreshing to find a swim dress that puts fashion first. You needn’t even indulge in an extra cover-up, because this dress would certainly work for coffee at a beachside café or ice cream on the boardwalk. That shore to street versatility helps us justify this swimsuit’s slightly too high $197 price tag.
