There are few things that get me in a summery mood than a good tropical print. But a pattern does not an attractive bikini make. Sadly someone didn’t tell Guess.
This Bungalow swimsuit top started out with such promise. That summery floral, with its vivid orange, pink, and green tones is lovely. These tropical hues really pop against the stark white background. But it seems like Guess rests on its laurels here, delivering little else of real value with this swimsuit.
It’s a matter of personal preference, but the gold straps and trim seem like an odd choice to me. Without any metallic on the print to pick up, this glitzy shade seems really out of place. It stands out, but not in a very flattering way.
There’s a bit of padding in the cups, but the style is so bland that I’m not sure it’ll help any. These heart-shaped pads are removable, a welcome feature for busty girls that don’t need the extra assistance, but I’m still not revved.
I’m also disappointed about the effort it’s going to take to keep this bikini looking good. It won’t survive a trip through the washing machine, even in a cold water wash. Frankly I’ve got more important things to do in summer than hand-washing a swimsuit!
At a relatively expensive $48.99, this Guess swimsuit just doesn’t seem worth my time!
