A men’s T-shirt is amongst the items in Gucci’s new GG Flag Collection.
The gray tee features a flag-printed version of Gucci’s logo designed by the company’s creative director Frida Giannini. The American version is available alongside the flags of Germany, Italy, Russia, and the United Kingdom. While Gucci calls this T-shirt a men’s style, I see no reason why women have to miss out on the fun. Its loose fit would make it a great beach cover up, don’t you think?
The same flag prints are also available on limited edition Gucci wallets, totes, and Boston bags. I can’t see any of these luxury items working for a day at the beach, but we can’t be on the shore all the time!
The capsule line was released to celebrate the launch of UNICEF’s new Schools for Asia program. Gucci will make an initial $350, 000 donation to the program, which helps underprivileged girls and orphans in Asia attend school. It will then donate a quarter of the proceeds from the GG Flag Collection to the cause.
This collection is the latest released during Gucci’s seven-year partnership with UNICEF. The fashion house is also the first large company to support the charity’s Schools for Asia program. Does this kind of altruistic work improve your opinion of Gucci?
