Vivienne Westwood has joined forces with People Tree and Marie Claire for a limited edition T-shirt dress.
The eco-conscious designer has crafted the playful cover-up entirely from organic and fair trade certified cotton. The slogan "Trees Save Lives" and Vivienne Westwood's signature are nestled amongst a swarm of playful sketches. And as it’s made by People Tree we know the print is created using low-impact natural azo dyes which don't harm the planet or its people. I love the boldness of the black, white and red design, and its modern hand-finished zig-zag hemline. Each one is made by Assisi Garments in India, a proudly organic company that employs underprivileged women and physically challenged citizens.
This limited edition Vivienne Westwood T-shirt is affordably priced at £25.20, especially considering its charity component. £7 from each sale will benefit The Society for Environment and Human Development, a charity which helps the Garo people of Bangladesh thrive despite the deforestation of their mountain home.
This Vivienne Westwood T-shirt dress is a fun way to cover-up on the beach while spreading an eco-friendly message. Is there a place for it in your wardrobe? If so you can buy it from selected boutiques in the United Kingdom and Europe, and online from the People Tree website.
