Fashion designer and social activist Vivienne Westwood has designed a new T-shirt to raise funds for the Environmental Justice Foundation. After making its debut at the Vivienne Westwood Red Label runway show at London Fashion Week, it's now available to the general public.
The War/Peace tee will support the Environmental Justice Foundation's "No Place Like Home" campaign. This initiative looks to raise awareness of the plight of thousands of refugees forced from their homes by natural disasters and climate change. The Environmental Justice Foundation is currently fighting to grant these refugees the same legal recognition, assistance, and protection as those recognized by the UN Refugee Agency.
"What we're talking about regarding climate change refugees is total chaos, where natural disasters are more intense and more often," explained Vivienne Westwood. "The world is giving us this warning of more horror to come."
The clever limited edition T-shirt is crafted from organic materials using an exemplary low carbon supply chain. This ensures its manufacture results in a 90% smaller carbon footprint than making a comparable cotton tee.
The War/Peace T-shirt is available in men's and women's styles. It’s available for ₤20 from Selfridges, the Environmental Justice Foundation e-store, and Vivienne Westwood stores, including its online boutique.
