Self Magazine, along with everyone else, it seems, has introduced their 4 week solution to achieving the bikini body we all desire in a DVD titled "Self Bikini Ready Fast." So my question is this... I have 2 tickets to Cabo for spring break. It's the end of February; just around 4 magical weeks before my plane leaves... Does Self Magazine really think that 4 weeks of religiously doing the routines on their DVD will remove the extra 35 lbs of flub around my midsection, sculpt, tone and shape my body to make it "bikini ready"? Self Magazine, what exactly IS "bikini ready" anyway?

The fact of the matter is, people today are looking for the most results with the least amount of effort. Oh, and those masterminds of marketing know it too. We see a new solution to belly flab on the covers of magazines every week; there's always a new "superfood" being introduced that will aide in burning calories and curbing hunger. Then we buy the magazines, don't we?

The fact of the matter is, there's no way for most people to become "bikini ready" in 4 weeks. The people who buy this DVD are those who have way too much work to do, and way too little motivation to do it. We all know the secret to a beautiful bikini body: eat less, move more ...oh, and lots and lots of crunches.
