This simply shaped tote’s woven finish is jazzed up with rows of tiny sequins. It could so easily have appeared gaudy, but Spiegel’s shown great restraint here. Rather than cover the tote in sequins, they’re used only as accents. The traditional tote shape also helps to temper the style.

This sturdy tote is generously sized to hold beach towels, sunscreen, and other summer essentials. Security may be a concern as there is no closure, but that’s not altogether a bad thing. It does allow us to stuff a few extra items inside after all. I only wish the interior pocket had a zip, so we had one place for safely stashing valuables.
This blue shade is pretty and perfect for summer, but I’m surprised it’s all that Spiegel offers. While it’s unobtrusive it’s impossible for one color to please everyone, so a few extra hues would have helped to enhance this tote’s appeal.
At $29, this Spiegel summer bag is a cheap and cheerful way to carry your stuff to the beach or pool this summer. Its relaxed style probably won’t work once the weather cools, but at this price I think we’ll still get value for our dollar.
