Ray Ban offers a feminine take on its classic Wayfarer sunglasses with the Caribbean.
The lines and finer details that made the Wayfarer so popular are retained, but Ray Ban's added some gentle curves and feminine flair. I wouldn't quite call them a cat eye frame, but they're heading in that direction. The lenses have also been squared off to make the style seem a little fresher.
I really like the mix of tortoiseshell frames and brown lenses. This color combination is timeless, and should suit most skin types. Ray Ban offers a few more options, but they're all pretty tame.
The lenses are worth chatting about further, as they're really smart. Ray Ban's added a 100% UV protective coating to keep the sun's harmful rays away from your peepers. The lenses are also made from polarized crystal to keep out the glare.
With such attention paid to the lenses, it's a shame Ray Ban doesn't offer any little extras for our comfort. The resin frames are very basic, without nose or temple pads.
At $145 these Ray Ban sunglasses cost a bit more than they did in their 80s heyday. But at least the label throws in a hard case to keep them protected!
