As a surf brand, Oakley knows what beach lovers want whether they're hitting the waves or spending time on the shore. These Clash board shorts are classic, comfortable, and made to last.
The shorts are traditionally styled, with bold color panels splashed across the microsuede material. This fabric is sumptuously soft for your comfort, and quick to dry in the summer sun. We're given three color options here. Personally I think the panels on the berry red and sky blue pants are a bit busy, but this basic black version hits all the right notes. It's all a matter of individual taste though, and it's always nice to have choices.
The classic drawstring tie is coupled with a modern stretch fly. This gives the board shorts a cleaner look than ones with the old velcro flies.
That traditional styling won't suit all women though. In recent times women's board shorts have become shorter and shorter to show off our tanned summer legs. This longer cut probably won't turn as many heads, but it will offer more sun protection. If you're more concerned with the practical than the pretty, you'll embrace Oakley's old fashioned design approach.
At $44, the Clash are a reasonably priced pair of boardies that should serve you well for several summers.
