H&M has launched a Hawaiian inspired resort lifestyle collection for charity. A percentage of sales from the H&M for Water line will benefit WaterAid, a non-profit organization which provides clean water and sanitation to third-world communities.
The comprehensive collection features dresses, shirts, swimsuits, board shorts, and beach accessories for men, women, and children. The apparel and accessories are crafted from a selection of sustainable fabrics including organic cotton, linen, Tencel, and silk. These materials are adorned with summery floral and palm tree prints.
The H&M for Water line builds on H&M's ongoing commitment to WaterAid. For the past ten years H&M has released an annual bikini to raise funds for the charity. This time around 25% of the proceeds from the entire collection will help the global organization continue its lifesaving work in India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. It's a fitting contribution as a portion of H&M's clothing is manufactured in these poor countries.
"H&M has a social and environmental responsibility in the countries where we operate and water is one of our focus area," explained H&M's head of corporate social responsibility, Helena Helmersson. "WaterAid is operating in some countries where H&M suppliers are located and we feel that it is very important for us to contribute to better livelihoods for people in these regions."
Shop for H&M's Water collection at H&M's boutiques around the globe. Fans in selected countries can also purchase the line through H&M's online store.
