Gottex Spring 2010 Preview: Molly Grad Debuts Swimwear Collection

New York Fashion Week Spring 2010 is just a week away, and designers are starting to entice us with sneak previews of their collections.

I was tres excited to find this sketch by new Gottex Head of Design Molly Grad in my inbox.

One of the only brands to show a full collection of swimwear at New York Fashion Week, Gottex is always a special treat - especially their spring collection.

Grad comes to Gottex from positions at Gianfranco Ferre, Yves Saint Laurent and Stella McCartney after graduating from London's Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design.

"Gottex has an amazing heritage. I am going to take the DNA of the brand and give it a fresh direction without foresaking its incredible past," Grad said.

Judging by the sketch, Grad may be in a more romantic mood than we've seen at Gottex the past few seasons, which have been bold and graphic. A gray, muted palette like the coloring in the picture would also be a bit of a departure.

I can't wait to see more and report back from the runway!
