Gottex Atlanti SwimsuitGottex uses its blend of polyamide and knitted elastan as a canvas with this Atlantis Surplice swimsuit.

The blue splatter paint effect calls to mind artworks by Jackson Pollock or Damien Hirst. Different shades of blue and a splash of white are used to create a finish which looks summery and dynamic. The simple wraparound style of this one-piece swimsuit allows the print to do most of the talking, although the ring at the side adds a little more interest.

It might seem daring for bigger women to wear such a busy swimsuit, but if you're carrying a few extra pounds this Atlantis one-piece is actually a very smart choice. Detailed prints like this confuse the eye, so they're great for covering up any flaws. Gottex's built-in tummy control system helps to flatten your stomach, while the soft cups make the most of the curves up top. Turn around and you'll notice the rear offers maximum coverage, which is another blessing for anyone concerned about cellulite.

Don't mistake this swimsuit for a plus-sized model though. Gottex only offers it up to a size 14, so it's really more for girls with a few problem pounds. That's a bit disappointing, as I think the style would look great on bigger girls, but it's not altogether unexpected for a fashion house to focus on average builds.

All too often it seems women have to choose between a sexy swimsuit or one that hides problem areas. Clearly Gottex thinks we can have both. I don't expect the Atlantis to inspire wolf whistles or cat calls, but it'll certainly help girls of any shape look good on the beach.
