Versace will release a new eyewear collection called Versace Etoile De La Mer, just in time for summer.
The high-end fashion house is tempting us already with this image from the Versace Etoile De La Mer advertising campaign. It takes something special to distract us from Gisele Bundchen’s dazzling beauty, but these striking oversized sunglasses fit the bill. I love the amber tint and the contemporary accents along the bridge of the nose. The gleaming metallic decoration is mirrored in the sunglasses’ intricate arms.

The Italian fashion label says it designed its new sunglasses to reflect a Versace siren making her way through the city during the sweltering summer heat. That makes the Brazilian beauty an appropriate choice to become the line’s face, even if she does seem to be selling every high end product on the market at the moment. Company creative director Donatella Versace says she chose the model for her “bold” beauty.
“She radiates true strength and sensuality,” Versace added.
I can’t argue with that, although I’m almost getting sick of seeing Gisele in commercials. Isn’t it about time the fashion industry found some fresh faces?
