Freestyle Betty Shark X WatchFreestyle serves up modern style for less with its blue Betty Shark X Watch.

I really like the look of this watch, from its sunburst accented blue face to its funky tapered polyurethane strap. That design is so appealing that it might make a girl throw caution to the wind, but it's worth pausing to consider what you want this watch to do.

Freestyle claims this watch is water resistant to a depth of 330 feet, but several customers have found it conks out long before reaching this deepness. Freestyle staff members have been reportedly unwilling to help these unlucky consumers, so if you're a scuba fanatic this probably isn't the watch for you.

However it does seem to hold up to dips in the pool and ocean, so perhaps it shouldn't be dismissed out of hand. So long as you don't challenge it, this watch seems to do just fine in the surf. Its stainless steel case is certainly tough enough to last these harsh conditions, as is its scratch-resistant face.

It's disappointing that Freestyle makes claims it cannot fulfill with the Betty Shark X watch. However for an affordable $55, I think we're getting a good deal if we adjust our expectations.
