DKNY Lilliana Flip Flops | Golden Synthetic Braided Strap Beach Shoes

DKNY scales back the luxury, and the price, with this simple pair of Lilliana flip flops.

This is really a back to basics pairs of beach shoes, with its brown rubber sole and the gentlest of heels. The simple sole isn't contoured or ergonomically designed as many are either. In fact, if it weren't for the white logo emblazoned on the foot bed I'm not sure I'd have recognized the Lilliana came from the designer stable at all.

That's not to say that the Lilliana flip flops are without charm. The braided straps might not be revolutionary, but the combination of brown and soft gold is quite alluring. I also appreciate the white and silver version, but the all-back Lillianas are a bit pedestrian. The straps are made from synthetic rather than real leather, so they're not going to feel especially soft on your feet, but they do dress up the beach shoes a little bit.

I don't expect real luxury for $39, and I don't really want it in my beach shoes. Instead it's more important that the flip flops can survive the harsh conditions of the beach and look cute while they're doing it. And on those scores, these Lilliana sandals definitely deliver.

DKNY brings classic style to the beach with this elegant water-resistant wrist watch.

This watch is a great antidote to all of those colorful plastic watches flooding the market. While these wristwatches do the job, they don't have the class of this elegant stainless steel alternative. That metal just makes things look much more sophisticated, although it's still tough enough to handle the punishment of time at the beach. The sand might add a few scratches, but you shouldn't have any real problems wearing this DKNY watch through summer.

I love the look of the stainless steel band, but it's quite wide. If you're petite, it may look a bit masculine on your wrist. The band is also large, so be prepared to remove a few links for the perfect fit.

The look is stunning though, and the face very easy to read. The quartz movement is also of excellent quality, but it won't survive a trip to the deep sea. With water-resistance assured to 165 feet, it'll suit surfers and ocean swimmers, but not scuba divers.

This DKNY watch has its limitations, but it's also the kind of watch that would work for a day at the beach and a fancy restaurant dinner afterwards. That versatility makes its $175 price tag seem just right.

DKNY add some extra exotic style to traditional flip flops with these Sarasota shoes.

These luxury beach shoes raise the bar with their soft and stylish cork footbed and snakeskin printed leather straps. These chartreuse yellow straps are subtly accented with a gold-toned DKNY logo. Donna Karan's New York based label is often obnoxious with its large ostentatious logos, so this tiny nod to the brand comes as a refreshing change of pace.

While the contoured cork feels heavenly on our feet right from the time of purchase, it's not the best wearing material. DKNY knows this, so it wraps the cork in a rubber outer sole. This sole isn’t just durable; it's also lightly textured for extra traction, a real plus for active beach goers.

These Sarasota thongs are a cut above your average pair of flip flops, but they're still a fairly casual pair of shoes. They'd look adorable paired with a maxi-dress for a summer barbecue or pool party, but I wouldn't suggest wearing them to a swanky restaurant or red carpet gala, no matter what the season.

If you like them though, I hope you have the right sized foot. Amazon only offers them in size 6 and 7, so those with feet larger or smaller than the average may be disappointed.

Active women need shoes that can keep up with them. Trainers do the job when you're hitting the gym, but they don't look so good with a bikini. That’s where cute and comfortable sandals like the Huntington from DKNY come in.

The styling is feminine without being fussy. Patent leather straps look stylish hugging your feet, but this glossy skin has a reputation for being hard and unforgiving. Stretchy fabric laid across and between your toes helps to soften the blow. The wedge shaped rubber sole cushions your feet and has just enough lift for style. This look is a practical and pretty alternative to heels when you're on the sand.

They say it pays to advertise, but I'm not a fan of the brash DKNY logo which wraps around the wedge. It makes the sandals seem a bit tacky, but for the label's faithful I suppose it also helps to justify the rather high price of $55. What's the point of spending that money on DKNY sandals if nobody knows it after all?

The Huntington sandals are available in sizes between 6 and 10. It's surprising to see no half sizes offered, and perhaps also a bit confusing for consumers. Customers suggest beachgoers desiring a half-sized Huntington should order the next size up as the sandals are on the small side.

DKNY might be based in America's East, but it seems to have a great understanding of what West Coast girls need. Here the label makes it easy to stay organized at the beach with this transparent shopper bag.

The handbag's clear PVC body is jazzed up with bold red, yellow, or black trim and handles. The transparent body is more than simply eye-catching though. It makes it easy to find your sunglasses, sunscreen, and other beach essentials at a glance. And with the open top design, it's easy to access them too.

Of course, there are some things that you want to keep away from prying eyes and sticky fingers. That's where the colored zippered pocket comes in. This pocket is large enough to carrying all your valuables, including your wallet, keys and jewelry. That should give you some peace of mind while you're enjoying yourself in the surf.

I like the easy marriage of casual good looks and practical perks here, but I'm not sure that makes this shopper worth almost $100. We are essentially getting a plastic bag after all, so it seems we might be paying for the label rather than the product. If that's your thing though, the bold DKNY logo should help to justify the cost.

Everyone needs that classic, solid one-piece that they can consistently rely on. This sexy DKNY bikini, which comes in solid pink or black, spices up the standard variation by adding a center hanging bead-piece.

The slight chandelier effect is similar to all those long plunging necklaces that stylish women are wearing these days. It highlights the length of the torso and adds a bohemian element to your swimsuit.

The haltar triangle-top ties around back in two places so that you can adjust the swimsuit to fit your bust. Additionally, you have the option of removing the padded cups that come with the swimsuit.

The shape of the bottom of the swimsuit seems to be a wider bikini style. This offers more coverage, but can sometimes look dated on younger swimmers. The less material on a swimsuit means the less likely you'll experience that unsightly fabric-bunching.

Currently this bikini is on sale for $38.25. I picture a more sheer sarong and dangling earrings to compliment this playful swimsuit. Enjoy your sweet, bohemian sun!
