NEWGEN was developed in 1993 to recognize and support new designing talent in Britain. The initiative helps designers finance their runway shows, and even offers them the opportunity to use the British Fashion Council Catwalk Show Space. It also sponsors presentation and exhibition space to help budding designers gain vital exposure to buyers and press.

NEWGEN alumni Christopher Kane, Mary Katrantzou, Marios Schwab, Richard Nicoll, and Erdem are amongst the big fashion names who've lent their talents to Topshop's new T-shirt project.

The limited edition T-shirts are bound to be popular, so I'm thrilled to see Topshop refusing to line its own pockets with the profits. Instead it'll donate the lot to Centrepoint, a British charity dedicated to helping homeless youth.

The T-shirts are sure to be a hot item during London Fashion Week. They'll go on sale during the style festival, which runs from February 17 to 21. Look for them at regular Topshop stores in the United Kingdom, its pop-up shop in London's Selfridges, the retailer's online store, and the NEWGEN space at Somerset House.

I can't say I'm a fan of the childish sketch drawing which Marni describes as "full of charm and optimism." However the cause the T-shirt supports is one we can all get behind.

A significant 25% of the T-shirts sales will benefit the Red Cross' vital work in Japan. The T-shirts will be released somewhere around the one-year anniversary of the tsunami and earthquake that devastated the Asian nation. It might seem this fundraising effort is a bit belated, but there's still much to be done to repair the country and rebuild the lives of the natural disaster's victims. When so many fashion labels have moved on from Japan it's refreshing to see Marni continuing the fundraising efforts.

The unisex T-shirt will be available for just £19.99, so we can all afford to get behind the charity efforts. However with a price like that, I don't expect the tees to last long. If you want to wear one on the beach this summer I suggest getting in to one of the 260 H&M stores worldwide, or logging on to the H&M website, bright and early on March 8.

The image of Pejic's lipstick kissed face was captured by one of his favorite photographers, John Paul Pietrus. Now the acclaimed snapper is selling limited quantities of the same T-shirt through his website. The loose-fitting tee is available in just the one generous size, which makes it perfect for using as a cover-up on the beach or as a sleep shirt once the sun goes down.

We're all tightening our belts after a Christmas shopping splurge, so I'm impressed that this limited edition tee is reasonably priced at $38. However it's a shame no charities benefit from the high sales that are sure to come. These days it's rare to see any fashion item with a celebrity name attached simply making the already rich richer. A little altruism wouldn't have gone astray.

Trace explained the siblings aimed to create a tee which combined his line's design aesthetic with Miley's signature style.

"The two of us had been talking about doing this for a while," he explained. "It was just about getting the right design."

The T-shirt features the image of a dream catcher, a symbol which both siblings have tattooed on their bodies.

"It was something we were always around since childhood, because of the influence from our dad," Trace explained.

The American Indian motif is presented alongside the image of a peace sign and Miley Cyrus' autograph.

The limited edition T-shirts are reasonably priced at $28, especially since all sales benefit the Pappy Cyrus Family Foundation. This charity, founded by Miley herself, helps children in need receive health care, and educational and community services. The tees are available now through the Southern Made Hollywood Paid website.

The cute T-shirts feature a panda image, which may or may not be modeled on the zoo's own giant pandas, Tian Tian and Yang Guang. The tees are made from bamboo, a sustainable fiber which just happens to be the pandas' favorite food.

Rapanui's co-founder Mart Drake-Knight explained that bamboo is "as soft as silk but half the price, it grows fast without water, pesticides or fertilizers." With so many advantages, it's a wonder that more fashion houses aren't making use of this wonder crop!

The Rapanui panda T-shirts are available in men's and women's styles for £24.95 from the label's online store and at the visitors stall near the panda enclosure at Edinburgh Zoo.

Whether you're a Brit or simply a global citizen, I think it makes sense to wear one of these cute tees on the beach. The zoo is doing such vital work to keep these endangered animals safe and hopefully expand the population, so it makes sense to help out.

Canadian business students Martin Weiss and Matthew Brightman launched the altruistic label earlier this year. Since then it's been helping Haitian artisans develop their craft and creativity. And best of all, it pays its artists a wage equivalent to four times their country's national average.

The artists produce 12 pieces of art each month, which Moral Fibers purchases for $10 US. Not every artwork ends up on a T-shirt, but the artists who create those special images receive a bonus. That can be significant, as it's equivalent to 15% of the revenue from the T-shirts bearing their design.

It's early days for this exciting start-up business, but Weiss and Brightman already have their eyes on expansion. They hope to work with artists in other developing countries in future. It sounds like such a great model which guarantees fresh T-shirt designs for the company and growth for the communities its involved with. It sounds like a win-win all round!

Supreme has joined forces with some of cinema's greats for its new capsule collection of T-shirts. There are five tees in all featuring contributions from David Lynch and Harmony Korine. Their large graphic prints should help them appeal to movie-loving beachgoers.

I think the T-shirt with Isabella Rossellini's Dorothy Vallens singing by the piano from Blue Velvet is my favorite. Lynch has also contributed one of his original sketches to another T-shirt. If the auteur's work doesn't float your boat, perhaps you'd prefer that of indie filmmaker Harmony Korine. His Supreme tee features the black and white image of a smug young Macauley Culkin sitting with a bevy of beautiful ballet dancers.

The masculine cuts of these T-shirts may disappoint female filmophiles, but I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss them. If you're simply slipping them over a one-piece swimsuit or bikini you'll probably appreciate the extra space. They should feel comfortable to wear even if they don't turn heads. Although I wouldn't be surprised if they inspire a conversation with a like-minded movie lover!

These edgy T-shirts are currently available at Supreme stores in Los Angeles, New York, London and Japan. If you're not near any of these locations you can also find them at Supreme's online store.

The Good Shirts T-shirts feature the designs of artistic New York lovebirds Christine and Justin Gicnac. Happily you don’t need to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to support the cause. The shirts are uniquely priced to reflect the cost of the aid items illustrated. So the tee pictured, with its cargo flight dropping vital supplies, really does cost $300, 000. However the one showing a trio of insecticide-treated mosquito nets is a much more affordable $18.57. If you've got a little more to spare you could spend $24.50 on the shirt that provides measles vaccinations for 81 children. There are other super luxe options too, including the $3,064 supply distribution motorbike tee, and the 100 tons of corn-soy flour shirt costing $75, 000.

When you buy a Good Shirt you'll know that the items it displayed will reach people affected by drought and famine in Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, and Dijbouti. In addition, one hundred percent of the purchase price will help UNICEF continue its vital work. Remember that most company's only donate the profits, not the purchase price, so this generosity is impressive.

I'd ordinarily suggest that $300, 000 is too expensive for any T-shirt, but the charity component of this one makes me reconsider my stance. It seems like it's there for the altruistic celebrities and business bigwigs, while the cheaper versions are available for the rest of us kind-hearted souls.
