Everywhere a person looks these days there are rompers! Playsuits that come in styles ranging from shorts, skorts, skirts to pants.

Now that look can travel to the sea and sands as well with this Victoria's Secret Cover-up Romper.

This look quite sporty and simplifies the worries about having the right outfit for the beach. This romper comes in either black or white and the material is a spandex cotton.

The only qualms I have with rompers is that not all women have the same top to bottom proportions.

This romper could evade that problem because of the adjustable elastic drawstrings at both the top and waist. This lets you choose where it will fall along your waist-line and bust-line.

As far as being a swim-suit cover-up, most white cotton materials become transparent when they're wet and a romper doesn't have a lot of space to move around in and dry off like a flow-y dress might.

This is also the cheapest romper I've come across at $24. This item would be much more of fashion statement than anything else.

I should also point-out, you do get these cute little side pockets with your romper. They might be able to hold your beach tags or small cell-phone, but this being Victoria's Secret, those shorts are supposed to be tight on the bottom.

Tory Burch's insignia has become quite the iconic representation of classy footwear. But the brand has a line of bags as well, which includes this glitzy Metallic Beach Tote. This bag belongs on the arms of Blake Lively as she struts around or beach vacations.

For the price of $325, at least this bag can claim that it doesn't look out of place when you take it off the beach. The website suggests it's a worthy airplane bag as well. What makes this bag so versatile is the metallic gold leather, which can go on the beach or on city streets.

It's dimensions (12" H x 20" W x 6" D) promise that you can pack a fool beach day's snacks, a towel, sunscreen, and magazines into it's two zip-close compartments and two interior pockets.

While the Tory Burch website only lists gold as a color option, there seem to be other color variations available as well: silver, black metallic, navy, green.

This look is perfect if you want to bring your urban edge to the beach, but you have to be comfortable with the fact that you're bringing your real-leather bag to the rough outdoors of the beach.

Flip flops can all start to look alike once you have a collection of one in every color from Old Navy or Havaianas. But these Dew Good Flip Flops are truly unique and will be a real showpiece of your summer wardrobe.

You know no one who does their shopping at the mall will have a pair of these handmade, hand-painted sandals crafted in the hills of Central Bali. Balinese villages and families often share in the work of creating each piece of this shoe, from the rubber sole with foam cushioning to the cloth straps to handcut patterns and painted designs.

The fact that these flip flops are fair trade means that the village artisans are being paid a fair wage for their work and you're helping out the communities that produced the item you're buying. Somehow I don't think the same can be said for many of the mass-produced rubber flip flops.

These sandals come in four colors each with their distinct artistic colorings. The brown sandal shown features a pattern in a variety of sea blues and greens with yellow and orange accents. Burgundy features a similar pattern in a variety of desert earth tones. White features beachy blues, and red is detailed with firey oranges and yellows.

I might not wear these by a muddy lake or a messy touristy beach, they're too nice for that! They'd look fabulous with a casual sun dress and are sure to get lots of compliments.

Cute and playful, and not just for surfers, board shorts are an oft-overlooked beachwear option. Which is surprising, given all the women who obsess about their butt and thighs in bikinis. Board shorts are a sporty cover up that can go into the water with you.

These Roxy Jammin Out Board Shorts could totally do double duty as regular shorts to cut down on vacation packing. They'd be equally adorable with a solid tee, tank or bikini top in any of the fun colors in the screen print Roxy logo graphic - purple, pink, blue yellow, red, green and more. The bow in matching colors on the front of the short appears to be more for looks than function. I don't think it would provide much size adjustment.

A side pocket is another practical aspect of this long board short. There's certainly no where to put a few bucks or your sunglasses in a bikini. The pocket, the coverage, the versatility - there's a lot of things for Moms to love about board shorts for a family vacation. But, be wary of the juniors' sizing and maybe go up a size.

But, if you're off for a romantic getaway, your guy may be disappointed if you step out onto the beach in a bikini bottom that could double as clothing. For any beach that is considered a sexy destination, I'd leave these at home.

They're immediately identifiable and never lost their cool despite enjoying such a trendy resurgence of late. The style fits best into both a hipstery cool aesthetic as well as one that's more urban prep and just this side of indie.

Ray-Ban have been producing the Wayfarer style since 1952 and they saw some popularity in the 1950's and 1960's, but their popularity peaked in the 80's, and have recently started making a come back. Unfortunately not everyone can afford the designer originals so here is a cheap alternative.

The best thing about this pair is the range of colors and patterns these shades come in, with both dark or clear lens options. For the price, you could order a few pairs to wear with different outfits to create a really coordinated or perfectly mis-matched look. They really allow you to customize your look and have something that not everyone on the street is going to be sporting despite the popularity of the style.

Keep in mind that at this cheap price you are getting what you pay for, plastic replica/knock-off sunglasses with a printed pattern that are not the "designer original" you may be after. That said, Amazon reviewers did judge that the plastic was heavy and durable.

When you're on the beach, after what's on your body it's what's on your feet that is really important. Flip flops are obviously the sunny-weather staple but they can be plain and, let's face it, boring.

But not these J. Crew Camellia Flower Flip Flops. If the metallic finish and romantic colors - metallic shell (light pink), metallic Atlantic (blue), metallic gold and metallic pewter - aren't enough detail for you there's also a delicate Camellia flower adorning the toe piece.

While they are flip flops and have a comfy rubber sole, they may be a bit frou frou for some beaches. So if yours is a casual, kid-friendly destination maybe keep these poolside or with a sundress for dinner in the city.
