As their quirky moniker suggests, these flip flops are thick and sumptuously soft. Your feet will sink down into the squishy top soles, while the EVA midsoles will give you the support you need. That blend of comfort and care makes the Mush a great everyday footwear option. In fact, many customers say they wear them all year round.

If you do though, don't be surprised if the quality deteriorates in time. The sole will flatten out, and they'll lose that alluring cushiony quality. On the bright side though, you'll get plenty of wear for your $24 before that happens. And when it does, it won't break the bank to replace them.

The allure of the Mush is really only apparent once you get them on your feet. From a distance, they don't look like much. Teva injects a little personality into the flip flops with cute patterns adorning the webbed straps, but really these are a very simple pair of thongs. They'll suit days on the beach or summer barbecues, but they'll never make the transition into high class occasions.

These luxury beach shoes raise the bar with their soft and stylish cork footbed and snakeskin printed leather straps. These chartreuse yellow straps are subtly accented with a gold-toned DKNY logo. Donna Karan's New York based label is often obnoxious with its large ostentatious logos, so this tiny nod to the brand comes as a refreshing change of pace.

While the contoured cork feels heavenly on our feet right from the time of purchase, it's not the best wearing material. DKNY knows this, so it wraps the cork in a rubber outer sole. This sole isn’t just durable; it's also lightly textured for extra traction, a real plus for active beach goers.

These Sarasota thongs are a cut above your average pair of flip flops, but they're still a fairly casual pair of shoes. They'd look adorable paired with a maxi-dress for a summer barbecue or pool party, but I wouldn't suggest wearing them to a swanky restaurant or red carpet gala, no matter what the season.

If you like them though, I hope you have the right sized foot. Amazon only offers them in size 6 and 7, so those with feet larger or smaller than the average may be disappointed.

The synthetic and mesh body of these shoes is designed to suit use on land or at sea. The rubber soles feature Speedo's special Hydro Tread, which disperses water quickly. This rubber sole is packed with Speedo Foam cushioning to help absorb the shock if you're pounding the pavement or jogging through the waves. But the sole's relatively smooth tread doesn't offer a lot of grip, so these shoes are probably best used in the ocean rather than in the pool.

The mesh upper works with the perforated footbed to offer maximum breathability. Sadly this doesn't help them dry any quicker though. Customers say that they take more than a night to dry, even in a well-ventilated room, which may disappoint those committed to their daily fitness regime.

The looks of these Hydro Trainers aren't too revolutionary, but the pink accents give this pair a certain girlish charm. These Speedo shoes are also available with more unisex navy and red embellishments if you'd prefer to tone things down.

These Hydro Trainers are available in a range of sizes, which customers report are relatively true to the sizes you'd expect. At $55, they're a relatively affordable pair of trainers for girls who like to exercise in and out of the water.

While most sandals strap the tops of your feet, the Anna takes a different approach with a distinctive ankle strap. It might feel a little odd at first as most new styles do, but Teva has taken every effort to help us break the shoes in quickly.

Teva does its best to make this pair of sandals comfortable. The underside of the strap is fitted with Velcro to help you find the perfect fit. The inner sole is made from contoured EVA overlaid with soft, suede-like material. The outer sole is made from shock resistant rubber, while the leather heel patch has a latex cushion for extra comfort.

All these practical features help the Anna feel like a well-worn pair of shoes from the very start. I wouldn't suggest you use them for long runs along the beach, but they're perfect for taking you from your resort to the sea shore, or enjoying the summer sights at an easy pace.

There's an earthy bohemian style about the Anna which should suit all the hippie chicks out there. Pair these cute shoes with your favorite swimsuit or flowing sundress for the perfect summer look.

The surf brand does its best to stamp its identity on the classic flip flop style. The sole is covered in an abstract wave logo print, and the logo appears again on an accent near your toes. It might seem like branding overkill, but the logo charm is the only one we'll see when these flip flops are on your feet.

That's both a blessing and a curse for me. While too many symbols would seem too much, the medallion alone doesn't excite me. It's a shame Roxy hasn't given the Palm Beach some interesting straps or a wedge sole to liven things up.

The cheap materials used here keep the price down to around $20, but I'd rather have a little more luxury. The rubber and PVC strap is conveniently waterproof, but it's likely to rub against bare feet if worn all day. I'm more enthusiastic about the ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) sole which will give more shock protection than most flip flops at this price point.

While these aren't really an expensive pair of flip flops, I'm still not sure Roxy gives us enough for our dollar. I can find a similar set at Wal-mart for a couple of dollars after all. But if the logo matters, the Palm Beach may be worth the extra pennies.

The styling is feminine without being fussy. Patent leather straps look stylish hugging your feet, but this glossy skin has a reputation for being hard and unforgiving. Stretchy fabric laid across and between your toes helps to soften the blow. The wedge shaped rubber sole cushions your feet and has just enough lift for style. This look is a practical and pretty alternative to heels when you're on the sand.

They say it pays to advertise, but I'm not a fan of the brash DKNY logo which wraps around the wedge. It makes the sandals seem a bit tacky, but for the label's faithful I suppose it also helps to justify the rather high price of $55. What's the point of spending that money on DKNY sandals if nobody knows it after all?

The Huntington sandals are available in sizes between 6 and 10. It's surprising to see no half sizes offered, and perhaps also a bit confusing for consumers. Customers suggest beachgoers desiring a half-sized Huntington should order the next size up as the sandals are on the small side.

Flip flops are traditionally relaxed affairs, but this pair has a little more class than the average. Soft metallic leather strands are knotted together near your toes to create a look which is casually charming. It's such a simple idea, but it helps these flip flops look elegant enough to wear away from the beach. It's also got just a hint of a heel; this is enough to add high-class style but not enough to cause you to totter as you walk along the sand.

The Monika's appeal goes beyond the superficial though. Its sole is made from a flexible rubber outer overlaid with a breathable synthetic lining. This surface is packed with memory foam and a cushioned insole for the comfiest fit all day.

It's rare to find a pair of flip flops which gives us so much for such little money. My only complaint is the limited range of colors on offer. While this subdued metallic silver is lovely, a few more choices would help us really coordinate our summer wardrobes. After all, with a $20 price tag I'd happily snap up a few more!

The strappy design looks red carpet ready from a distance, but up close we see the style serves a more practical purpose. The soft straps up front hug the foot, working with the webbing straps in the back for a secure and comfortable fit. The patterned traction rubber base also helps things along, ensuring you won't slip when taking a run along the beach or playing a game of volleyball.

Teva was inspired by yoga mats when making the sole of the shoe. It looks simple, but it's fitted with anti-microbial protection to keep your feet smelling fresh. And with the open toe design, your feet shouldn't sweat even on the hottest of summer days.

We’re spoiled for choice, with the Kayenta sandals available in a range of seven vibrant color schemes. Black and chocolate chip will tempt girls who love classic looks, but I'd rather be a bit different with this vibrant harvest pumpkin sandal. The mix of pink and orange gives them a summery pop of color. The Kayenta sandals are also available in sizes 5 to 11, although with many half sizes on offer it's easy to find the perfect fit.

You know no one who does their shopping at the mall will have a pair of these handmade, hand-painted sandals crafted in the hills of Central Bali. Balinese villages and families often share in the work of creating each piece of this shoe, from the rubber sole with foam cushioning to the cloth straps to handcut patterns and painted designs.

The fact that these flip flops are fair trade means that the village artisans are being paid a fair wage for their work and you're helping out the communities that produced the item you're buying. Somehow I don't think the same can be said for many of the mass-produced rubber flip flops.

These sandals come in four colors each with their distinct artistic colorings. The brown sandal shown features a pattern in a variety of sea blues and greens with yellow and orange accents. Burgundy features a similar pattern in a variety of desert earth tones. White features beachy blues, and red is detailed with firey oranges and yellows.

I might not wear these by a muddy lake or a messy touristy beach, they're too nice for that! They'd look fabulous with a casual sun dress and are sure to get lots of compliments.

But not these J. Crew Camellia Flower Flip Flops. If the metallic finish and romantic colors - metallic shell (light pink), metallic Atlantic (blue), metallic gold and metallic pewter - aren't enough detail for you there's also a delicate Camellia flower adorning the toe piece.

While they are flip flops and have a comfy rubber sole, they may be a bit frou frou for some beaches. So if yours is a casual, kid-friendly destination maybe keep these poolside or with a sundress for dinner in the city.

Or, if you're a sportier type who wears her Old Navy flip flops almost everywhere, you might find yourself saving these for special occasions. They're probably not worth the $24.50 if you don't think you'll wear them often since you can get those Old Navy flip flops much cheaper.
